Leena is a British artist and an advocate for LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual) rights. She studied photography at Central Saint Martins for seventeen months twenty two days and was awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Photography, Art and Design, with no grade. She also holds a MSc from the University of London's Clore Management School specialising in E-commerce, and apparently other technological shenanigans. In 2006 she undertook an EU Research Fellowship at the University focusing on 'The Rules Norms and Ethics of Knowledge Exchange' with an emphasis on 'Intellectual Property Rights In The Creative Industries'. She specialised in missing and or altered photographic metadata and being befriended by beautiful women of questionable repute who are after your tailored black jacket, that doesn't fit them.
From 1999 to 2003, Leena worked as an editor and freelance writer in Tokyo and London.
In 2007, she opened a not-for-profit, art space in Tribeca, for seventeen months, providing emerging artists a platform for showcasing their work. She has curated group shows, exhibitions, art salons and has hosted art discussion panels.
In recent years Leena has been concentrating on furthering her painting. She appreciates and is grateful for the opportunities afforded by friends and family, she is most appreciative of the opportunities afforded by artworks going missing from the house and her paintings being painted over.
